The Ivins City Youth Council added a lot of fun to this year’s Heritage Days celebration with their potato cannon. The Youth Council began this spring to give the youth of Ivins a voice on city issues, an understanding of how city government works, an opportunity to provide a service to the community that will showcase the dedication of youth in Ivins, and to provide the knowledge, skill, and abilities to the next generation of local leaders.
They built a lot of awareness at the event and raised some money they plan to put towards a community project. Thank you Jamy Dahle, Youth Council Director and Bob Morris our tireless Youth Council Advisor. And thank you Youth Council members Samuel Gillette, Averi Jackson, Brennen Kinslow, Connor Oliphant, Mikiela Snyder, Summer Terry, and Roxie Sparling.
